IEC 62133 & IEC 62619 Certification

IEC CERTIFICATION

The IEC, or International Electrotechnical Commission, writes international standards for all electrical, electronic, and related technologies. IEC standards address general, safety and transportation specifications and ensure electronic devices perform and operate safely. The IEC 62619, IEC 62133 and IEC 60086-4 standards are the main IEC standards for Lithium batteries.

IEC 62133 & IEC 60086-4 STANDARDS

The IEC 62133-1:2017 standard for nickel systems, the IEC 62133-2:2017 standard for secondary lithium systems and the IEC60086-4 standard for primary lithium cells and batteries specify the requirements and tests for non-acid, portable, and leak-proof batteries (with the exception of button cells), to ensure the safety of their operation under intended use and any reasonably foreseeable misuse.

The IEC62133 standard is increasing requested. In the past, it was most commonly found in the medical sector. Nowadays, is has become more and more widespread and is now found in a wide range of market sectors.

IEC 62619 STANDARD

The IEC 62619 standard specifies the requirements and tests for secondary lithium cells and batteries for use in industrial applications.

IEC 62619 certification is important for exporting batteries used in stationary applications, telecommunications, UPS, back-up power and motive applications, rail and off-road electric vehicles such as forklift trucks, AGV and marine.
